This is the Henry gargoyle finial, a beautiful grotesque gargoyle roof finial with excellent detailing and proportions. It is a decorative winged gargoyle with muscular limbs, claws, wings and facial features and is a great way to add charm, character and an architectural feature to the roof
In Somerset and the West of England the term Hunky Punk is used to describe grotesque carvings, gothic features and architectural detailing on buildings and churches. Traditionally gargoyles were known to serve a functional purpose by draining water off of the roof, often via the mouth. Although Henry is purely decorative the inspiration for the piece comes from the numerous architecural details you find on old buildings and churches and gives the piece a modern day twist because it can be installed on the roof to create a beautiful feature
We also have a range of other gargoyles available in different styles and sizes on half round, segmental and angled ridge tile fittings
