The first thing that needed to be done in order to make the finial was to make sure that the colour of the finial was the same with the colour of the customer's current roof tiles. The customer suppled a sample of the roof tile they wanted replicated, and our skilled craftsmen used it to create an excellent match. We were able to develop a finial that fits in perfectly with the customer's already-installed roof tiles by matching the tile's colour and texture.

This customization is based on a dragon design that already exists among our dragon range, but we have given it a one-of-a-kind twist by coordinating the colour of the finial with the customers current roof tiles

Welsh slate and terracotta dragon finial
This magnificent Welsh slate and terracotta dragon finial was colour matched to a Welsh slate sample and the dragon was finished in a lovely contrasting colour. The customer was having a roof refurbishment undertaken and wanted to decorate the roof with a dragon feature. The customer had Welsh heritage so the dragon finial was a very fitting and suitable feature to go for as the dragon features on the Welsh national flag
The property had the roof stripped back to the timber structure and the felt, battens and other structural pieces were replaced and the slate was reinstalled on the roof. The ridge tiles were of concrete construction but were grey to be in keeping with the slate roof. The customer’s property featured some decorative terracotta brick built chimney stacks so they enquired whether we could produce a special coloured slate grey and terracotta dragon roof finial feature for them to compliment the slates and terracotta
It took approx. 10-14 working days to produce this special dragon and cost £25.00 extra on top of normal prices to produce to cover the materials and labour that went into making it. We can then deliver as standard to anywhere in England and Wales, other areas may be slightly more. We can do all kinds of special effects on the dragons, gargoyles, wyverns and traditional finials – Contact us today with your requirements and check out the gallery below to see some pictures of the dragon finial
